Elena de Orbe

Elena is an Associate Principal Computational Chemist at AstraZeneca, where she focuses on the design of next-generation antibody-drug conjugates, radioconjugates, and other targeted oncology therapeutics. She obtained her PhD in Organic and Computational Chemistry from the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), Spain, and undertook research internships at The Scripps Research Institute and the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre. She joined AstraZeneca in 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher, developing small-molecule covalent inhibitors and bioconjugation methods in collaboration with the University of Cambridge. She subsequently progressed to her current role, where she leads and supports computational chemistry efforts across innovative bioconjugate programmes.
