Clinical Pharmacology & Safety Sciences Oncology Safety Postdoctoral Fellow AstraZeneca

Dr Daria Galas-Filipowicz, PhD is an Innovation Postdoctoral Researcher in Clinical Pharmacology & Safety Sciences at AstraZeneca. She holds a PhD in Cancer Biology from University College London (UCL) and leads research into the mechanisms of target-independent antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) toxicity using complex primary human bone marrow models. Her work focuses on generating translational safety insights to support the development of safer and more effective ADCs.
Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Daria spent a decade at UCL Cancer Institute and UCLH, contributing to translational and clinical multiple myeloma research. Her expertise spans clinical trial sample analysis, immune profiling, multicolour flow cytometry, and studies of tumour microenvironment-mediated drug resistance, supporting both academic research and early-phase clinical development.

Selecting & Validating the Most SuitableModel System Models to Overcome Resistance & Improve ADC Efficacy & Safety
1:00 pm

This workshop aims to dive into the strengths and limitations of various in vitro to in vivo models (PDX, syngeneic, humanized mice, organoids) for predicting ADC performance and addressing the movement toward new alternative methodologies and better understanding of PKPD dynamics to evaluate safety and efficacy.

Key Questions:

  • How do we select the right animal model for each ADC programme?
  • What are the best practices for translating mouse efficacy to human dose?
  • How can organoids and MPS systems complement or replace animal studies?
